Whole class mind mapping
I had my final lesson with one of my classes today and we were revising for the end of year exams next week. I gave the students 5 minutes in groups to come up with a creative way of revising as a whole class, one of the success criteria was that they had to create a resource that they could everyone could use afterwards.
We then voted on the most popular idea – this was a whole class mind map. We divided the group up into small groups and each group took a particular topic – they then each completed their own mind maps and at the end of the lesson we joined them all together.
The students then all took a photo of the mind map on their mobile phones, there were two students who didn’t have this capability but as they left the class it was sent to them from another student through Facebook.
This was a really creative, fun lesson that produced an excellent revision resource. Here is a copy of the mind map:
